Sprink-Harris Wedding

Today was the big day for Jeff Sprink and Renee Harris as they were married here at Haywood Hall.  Renee proved to be the most creative of brides.  Rather than follow our typical set-up of holding the ceremony on the front lawn, she chose to use the patio area with the pergola and house in the background.  The result was a beautiful wedding that truly capitalized on our garden setting.

Haywood Hall the Backdrop of Next Week’s Throwdown with Bobby Flay

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, May 27.  Yes, Bobby Flay and Ed Mitchell of The Pit will be the stars of the episode, but Haywood Hall will provide the setting.  Tune in to the Food Network at 8:30 next Wednesday night  to watch Throwdown with Bobby Flay and find out how the famous chef matched up against Raleigh’s Pit Master.  And keep your eyes open to see how  Haywood Hall looks on the small screen.

Petty-Castle Wedding

Today’s weather made us a little nervous about Sarah and Josh’s wedding and reception.  Just as we would begin setting up, another rain shower would pass through.  For that reason, we went with a set-up that used both the indoor dining room and the garden area.  The skies continued to threaten until just before time for the ceremony to begin, and then they began to clear.  The weather ended up being just perfect — no more rain, not too warm, and a wonderful breeze.  It made for a lovely evening to celebrate Sarah and Josh’s marriage.
